Online Clinical Database is a World Wide Web based secure application to share knowledge and experience via Internet. Clinical data can be placed into the database directly from the desk of participating physicians and accessed from anywhere around the globe. In fact, multiple users can simultaneously access the same data.

Online Clinical Database is consisted of four major parts: (1) search engine, (2) clinical cases placement template, (3) clinical cases presentation interface, (4) and data storage.

Search Engine is a set of screen forms for entering keywords and search criteria. Two types of on-line search will allow: (1) criteria search within following: diagnosis, anatomical region, age group, gender, type of treatment, typical complications, etc., and (2) keystroke search allowing to query entire dataset for specified keywords.

Clinical Case Placement Template is a set of screen forms for entering text data. This interface will allow on-line enter of text data directly into the database by any participating physician. Before submission of the text data physician will allow to review the appearance of his case on the screen for corrections. Upon submission of the text data he will receive a confirmation message with ID number of his case, detailed description of requirements for case related images, and instruction of mailing these images to Global MedNet for scanning and placement into the database.

Clinical Case Presentation Interface is a set of screen forms for viewing database records. Database will store x-ray and clinical photo images together with clinical data, creating a multimedia patient record. Each form will contain thumb-nail version of the images. A click on a thumb-nail will bring the full size image in its own window.

Data storage is a set of relational database files on the Global MedNet's database server containing all entered information about clinical cases.

Online Clinical Database can be an essential part of your virtual medical office, medical referrals network, and corporate web site or online product catalog.
