Abstract. Eight consecutive cases of
"orthognathic" mandibular hypoplasia, treated with MD-DOS were cephalometrically
analysed for positional changes of points Pogonion and Menton, and for changes in overjet
and overbite. After 8 months on average, relapse in the sagittal direction (overjet and
Pogonion) was greater than in the vertical direction (overbite and Menton). Occlusal
overcorrection and prolonged stabilisation are advised for.
