In contrast, the Mandibular Distractor from Walter Lorenz Surgical was designed for uni-directional corpus elongation. The distractor (5, 12, 15, 17, and 20 mm of length) includes a special advancement driver with an audible "click" feature for gauging the advancement amount and a detachable flexible advancement shaft for increasing access to the distractor. The distractor also includes four mini plates with multiple hole options, which can be bent or cut to facilitate fixation.
