Distraction Device

Although 2 basic distraction devices have been used for mandibular lengthening (Frankfurt Craniofacial Distraction System, KLS-Martin, Jacksonville, FL, USA, and Multi-Guide™, Stryker Leibinger, Inc., Kalamazoo, MI, USA), the technique described here will be for the Frankfurt Craniofacial Distraction System. The distraction devices of this system are used in a uni-directional, bi-directional or multi-directional mode.
