Clinical Indications

• Partial defects of the alveolar ridge
• Atrophic bone segments in the mandible and maxilla
• Vertical correction or replacement of edentulous segments
• Local openbite

Contraindications

• Inadequate bone volume in cases with severely atrophic mandible
• Osteoporosis

Limitations

• Maximum transport segment width is approximately 50 mm
• Minimum transport segment height is approximately 8 mm
• Inadequate bone volume in cases of severe mandibular atrophy due to the risk of fracture
• Patient cooperation
