Incision & Exposure
The surgical procedure involves a segmental osteotomy to mobilize an alveolar bone segment apical to the edentulous site. A horizontal incision is made in the vestibule, and subperiosteal dissection exposes the labial cortex. The dissection avoids elevation of the flap at the crest of the ridge, especially near the periodontal attachment of the adjacent teeth.
